"Do you ever wish something would just happen?" She asked.
Her question caught me off guard. "What do you mean?" We were laying on the grass behind the library, stargazing. Violet had her long black hair pulled out behind her, trailing it across the grass. It was just like her to break the silence with a weird question.
She rolled onto her side to look at me. "Like anything. A meteor comes crashing into your neighbor's house, you find a hundred bucks on the ground, you meet a new friend." She made a sweeping gesture in the air. "Anything."
"Oh, uh, I guess." I stared up at the sky, trying not to picture flaming rocks falling towards us. "Is that what you want?"
"Yeah. I'd take bad stuff right now over nothing." She pulled at the grass beside her.
"What bad stuff?"
"I dunno, like tripping down the stairs. Anything would be better than this."
"It could be worse, Violet. You could be dead."
Her voice was quiet as she flipped onto her back. "Yeah, well at least that would be a change."
I cried as thought back to that summer. Staring up at the sky, the stars starting to come out, it was impossible not to think of her. "That's not the change I wanted." I said aloud. "I never wanted to lose you." But I was far too late to change her mind.

Archives of the Nameless: Chapter 45:
Durothil’s footsteps echoed within the vast darkness that surrounded him as he walked forward in the dark platform. A blackened lake that once was lava surround it, silently seething every so often. He recalls the first time when Griggorn brought him down here, remembering as he watched the slowly falling water drops from the jagged teeth like ceiling formations as time flows much slowly in the lair of the Nightscale. Even now, the young high elves’ attention turns towards the sides, his dimness dissipating in his eyes as he watches a drop hitting the blackness with the pace of a snail. A ripple slowly forms, first one ring that extends within five minutes into a larger, followed by another in five minutes, and so on so forth. His faded icy blue eyes watch this sluggish event for at least fifteen minutes before he realizes where he is and what he came for. With the recent demise of Griggorn, Durothil has been officially elected as the leader of the Dhau-Íssz clan. Although he has

Mysterious Vampire Queen part 3: Finale in flames
The next night in the back room of Valtorez' club. Indeed in this conference room aside from Valtorez are nine other individuals. Most of these men and women (of almost equal number) are wearing regular business attire, although almost universally black. Aside from Valtorez in his cloak and cape only three others really stand out. A man wearing a black robe with purple diamond insignias, a woman with short dark black hair who is almost bleach white with fully black eyes, and the woman beside her who while dressed in a dark grey nearly black suit is clearly not only not human, but not what one would expect as a vampire either as her elbows are visibly ball joints like an expensive puppet with her head on a swivel along with glass like eyes. "Greetings all," says Valtorez, "we were expecting another to join us, however there is no sign of them. However that does not change our purpose. Moving forward with gathering our resources for the purpose of finding how the new comers were
