"So this is the edge of the world." I plopped down on the grassy edge, staring across at a sunset that did indeed look like you could sail away to a non-existent oblivion.

"Yup." The nameless she I'd just met at the park sat down next to me. "I come here to escape the madness."

"What madness?" I leaned back casually to study those long chocolate curls that flowed halfway down her back.

"The world is the madness. Idiots, everywhere. Subway flashers and soapbox ranters. Everyone obsessed with objects. Nothing but fads and following to make up what is supposed to be an advanced society." Nameless threw her hands in the air.

"Aww come now cupcake, it'll be fine." I agreed with her but she was pretty when she was angry.

Those emerald eyes rolled. "Yes I'm sure the plague of stupidity will cease and we will be left with a community of intelligent zombies."

"Now, now. No need to be a sarcastic cupcake."

She flashed me her middle finger.

I laughed but she shifted as if she wanted to leave.

"I-It's not to say I disagree with you." I tried to salvage our conversation. "Society is all about objects, possessions, things. It revolves around material possessions. Humans hoard objects, sometimes even trash, and pile them in their homes. They buy storage containers and fill them with things. We humans are greedy, and crave to own more than the one who stands next to us. We are possessed to worship every tangible object so that we have more and so that no one else may own what we own. And once you get passed the objects its how many favorites and followers can you get. People searching for internet fame. A three minute video designed to inspire stardom. We all want that flash of the good life. But really w..."

Nameless grabbed my face and kissed me, cutting my sentence off in the best possible way. And when she pulled back, all I could do was fistpump to the sound of her giggles.
